Led by Sam Billings, Oval Invincibles have had a phenomenal journey in The Hundred 2024 so far, occupying the top spot with two consecutive wins.
After thrashing Birmingham Phoenix in the tournament opener, the defending champions pipped Welsh Fire by ten runs in the subsequent affair.
Adam Zampa has been the most prolific performer for the Invincibles, scalping six wickets in two outings. Sam Curran and Nathan Sowter have also oozed their class with the ball, providing the Invincibles with crucial breakthroughs.
In the batting department, Oval rely heavily on Will Jacks, while the likes of Dawid Malan and Donovan Ferreira must step up alongside skipper Billings for the team’s success.
On the other hand, Harry Brook’s Northern Superchargers have had a topsy-turvy journey in the competition, sitting at the eighth position with one win in two appearances.
After Trent Rockets defeated them by 47 runs, the Superchargers bounced back remarkably by securing a seven-wicket win against Southern Brave.
Barring the in-form Nicholas Pooran, the Superchargers would like better returns from Matthew Short, who is known for his incredible all-round prowess.
While Adam Hose plays a pivotal role for them in the middle order, Jordan Clark will shoulder the bowling responsibilities alongside Callum Parkinson, Adil Rashid and Matthew Potts.
