Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan was once again seen in an angry mood during Day 5 of the first Test against Pakistan at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi on Sunday, August 25. Bowling the 33rd over of Pakistan’s second innings, the left-arm spinner seemed agitated by Mohammad Rizwan’s unpreparedness to face the second ball of the over.
Notably, Rizwan was not prepared to face the delivery as he got involved in a brief chat with Litton Das behind the stumps while pointing at one of the fielders in the outfield. While all this was happening, Shakib was in his bowling action and had to stop in between. The left-arm spinner was visibly angry with the sudden interruption and threw the ball towards Rizwan to make his disappointment known.
The ball went over the head of the Pakistan batter and was collected by wicketkeeper Das. Shakib’s antics didn’t go down well with umpire Richard Kettleborough admonishing him for his act making the Bangladesh cricketer apologise immediately. Captain Shanto also walked up to have a chat with the umpire after the incident.

Meanwhile, Shakib had a great day with the ball as he picked up 3/44 in 17 overs to help bundled out Pakistan for 146 in the second innings. The 37-year-old first dismissed Saud Shakeel, the centurion from the first innings. The southpaw got outfoxed by the veteran spinner and got stumped for a four-ball duck.
Bangladesh register historic maiden Test win over Pakistan
Shakib further dismissed the well-set Abdullah Shafique (37 off 86) getting him caught at point. He further got rid of Naseem Shah (3 off 22) to leave Pakistan in all sorts of trouble at 118/8. Mehidy Hasan also picked up 4/21 to bundle out Pakistan for 146 in the second innings setting a target of 30 runs for Bangladesh.
Bangladesh openers Zakir Hasan (15*) and Shadnam Islam (9*) took their team home unscathed in 6.3 overs helping their team register a historic maiden Test win against Pakistan. Notably, it was the first ever win for the Bangla Tigers against the Asian Rivals after 15 Tests.
